Three-Day Beginner Sewing Workshop

September 12-14

1:30pm-3:30pm

In this hands-on class, students will learn the fundamentals of hand sewing while creating a soft, playful character from wool and fabric. Using a large pom-pom as the body, students will build their own custom toy—adding stitched-on arms and legs, a simple handmade outfit, and embroidered facial features. A fun crown or hat adds the final creative touch!

This project is perfect for beginners and young makers looking to learn basic stitching, assembling, and decorating techniques in a relaxed and creative environment.

Skills You’ll Learn:

  • Basic hand-sewing stitches
  • Simple embroidery for eyes and expressions

In this creative and hands-on class, students will learn the art of handmade doll making using a provided sewing pattern as a base. From stitching and assembling the doll body to designing clothing and hand-embroidering facial features, this workshop offers a charming exploration of textile craft and character creation.

Each participant will create a one-of-a-kind, custom doll—complete with a unique outfit, hairstyle, and expression—reflecting their own personal style.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Using a pre-designed pattern to sew and assemble a soft doll
